How to Pick the Right Strap and Film
Match the strap to the strapper
Fully automatic arch strappers (Eagle 710L, 710X, Mosca and similar): 5 mm × .020" embossed machine strap, 20,000' on an 8×8" core. Clear or white. This is the strap most Long Island mail shops run.
Semi-automatic tabletop strappers (Eagle SP11, SP series): 3/8" (9 mm) × .024" embossed machine strap, 12,900' on a 9×8" core. Clear or white.
Set up for something else? 4.75 mm × .017" white, 23,000' rolls, on request. Postal-approved Bunn tying twine, 10-ply poly-cotton, by the pound, on request.

Clear or white
Same polypropylene, same machines. A strapper tensioned on one can misfeed on the other, so stay with what the machine was set up on.
Switching? Run one roll before you buy the pallet.
Core size
8×8" on the 5 mm rolls for the automatics. 9×8" on our 3/8" rolls. The dispenser takes one size.
An adapter sleeve lets a semi-automatic strapper run the other core. Ask before you order a pallet of the wrong one.
Stretch film
Machine film: 20" × 5,000', 63 gauge, high-performance, tack on one side. For the Eagle 2000 and other turntable wrappers with powered pre-stretch. 50 rolls a pallet, about five working days out.
Hand wrap: 18" × 1,500', 70 gauge. For the odd pallet and the loading dock.
Running 80 gauge from a catalog house? On a powered pre-stretch wrapper a 63-gauge high-performance film holds the load. Send us the spec you run now and we quote it foot for foot.
Postal-approved poly film
19.5" and 21" rolls for polywrap and poly-bag systems. Made for us here on Long Island.
We do not stock shrink film for L-bar sealers.
Before you run out
Count what you go through in a week. A pallet of 5 mm is 40 rolls, one roll per box. A pallet of 3/8" is 24 rolls.
Pallets ship from the mill in about a week. Rolls ship from Deer Park the same day. Order the pallet while you still have a box on the shelf.
Strap that dusts or misfeeds is usually a bad batch, not the machine. Call us and we take it up with the mill and get you a replacement roll.
Out of Strap Is a Line Down
Nobody notices the strap until the last roll is on the machine. Then the trays pile up at the end of the line and the truck is due at four.
Tell us the strapper you run and how many rolls a week you go through. We keep rolls on the shelf in Deer Park for the emergency and set your pallets up so the next one lands before you are down to the last box. Which strap does my strapper take: clear or white, 5 mm or 3/8"?
Automatic arch strappers like the Eagle 710L run 5 mm on an 8×8" core. Semi-automatic tabletops like the Eagle SP11 run 3/8" on a 9×8" core. Clear and white are the same polypropylene, but a machine tensioned on one can misfeed on the other, so stay with what it was set up on. Send a photo of the box label and we match it.
Can I order a few rolls, or is it pallets only?
Rolls, boxes or pallets. One roll of 5 mm per box. Under a pallet goes UPS or LTL at cost. A full pallet ships freight-free. Most shops keep a few rolls on the shelf and put the pallet on a standing order so they never run out.
The new strap is dusting and misfeeding. Is it the machine?
Usually the batch, not the machine. Clean the track and the sealer, run a roll from a different box, and if it still misfeeds call us. We take it up with the mill and get you a replacement. If the strapper needs a tech after that, we send one.
Do you sell stretch wrap and shrink film?
Machine stretch film, 20" × 5,000' × 63 gauge high-performance, 50 rolls a pallet, for the Eagle 2000 and other pre-stretch wrappers. Hand wrap 18" × 70 gauge by the case. Postal-approved poly film in 19.5" and 21" for polywrappers. We do not stock shrink film for L-bar sealers.
