How to Pick the Right Tray Tag
By printer
Laser or inkjet: 10 tags on a perforated 8½ × 11 sheet. 250 sheets a box, 2,500 tags. Tear along the perf.
Thermal: fan-fold, one tag up, 30,000 a case. For BCC Traymate and other thermal printers.
By mail class
White for First-Class, Marketing Mail and Bound Printed Matter.
Pink for Periodicals. Laser sheets, 1,200 a case.
What’s printed on a tag
The 24-digit Intelligent Mail tray barcode (IMtb).
Three lines of text: where it’s going (ZIP and facility), what’s in it (class and shape), where it came from.
Your presort software prints all of it. You supply the stock.
Before you print
Plain paper tears off the tray rail and falls out in transit. Use tag stock.
Laser gives the cleanest barcode. Inkjet works on the same sheets.
Keep the perf edges clean so the tag seats in the holder.
USPS gives you trays and sleeves free through MTEOR. The tags you buy.

Do you have minimums? How fast is delivery?
No minimums. Orders ship the same day and most arrive the next day. On Long Island we often drop it off free ourselves.
Do you sell pink laser tray tags as well as white?
Yes. White for First-Class, Marketing Mail and Bound Printed Matter. Pink for Periodicals, laser sheets by the case. Both by the box or case.
Laser or thermal tags, which do I need?
Whatever printer your presort station uses. Laser or inkjet: sheets, 10 tags each. Thermal: fan-fold tags by the case for BCC and other thermal printers. Not sure? Tell us the printer model.
Can you match the tray tag I buy now?
Send the item number or a photo of the box. Most laser tray tags are 10-up on 65-lb perforated stock; if yours match, ours run the same.
What does USPS require on a tray tag?
